I grew up on the South Shore of Massachusetts and graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Human Nutrition degree. I then completed my dietetic internship at Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana. I became a Registered Dietitian in 1989 and worked in the clinical setting for the first few years, educating folks on how to eat properly after they had their first, second or third heart attack.
Why did you choose health education as a career field?
During those first few years, I thought... "If only I could have caught them before they had their heart attack.... maybe we could have prevented it"
What do you love most about your job?
Helping people become healthier, impacting others in a positive way. Bringing health and sunshine and good vibes into the workplace is the best!
Do you want to share with your agencies?
I too struggle with many unhealthy behaviors, I am not perfect! As I help you, you also help me. And I thank you for that.
