Over the last ten months I have lost 55 pounds by changing my lifestyle. I utilized a phone application called myfitnesspal to monitor my caloric intake and weight loss goals. I started at 212 pounds and I am now 157 pounds. I have logged on for 305 days straight and will continue to use this application to monitor my calories and maintain my current weight indefinitely.
For the first six months my goals was to lose a pound a week by changing my eating habits and not using exercise. This is important in order to maintain the weight loss long-term. After six months I made my goal to lose a half a pound a week and started running three times a week. I have completed numerous 5k races.
I share my experience with my coworkers and encourage them to try the myfitnesspal application. Many have told me in the past few months that they are trying the application or a similar one and have started to see results. I am hopeful that they will stick with it and see results.
I tell everyone that "I eat to live and no longer live to eat!" These changes have reduced my blood pressure, given me more energy and helped with back problems I was having. This was a major life change and I look forward to healthy living in the future!
